Tapes Not Bombs (2011)

There's something about this record that makes me think of old times. Something that just feels mid 90's to me. I don't know that I can say that Wormburner is aping the sound of another, older band, but there's just something about their music that takes me back a bit. Though Wormburner's songs are at a faster tempo and significantly more poppy, aesthetically they really remind me of the band Boys Life. I don't know that a huge Boys Life fan is going to read that, buy the Wormburner record and then tell me I'm out of my mind, but both records just take me to that same place. That being said, I probably like this Wormburner LP better than Boys Life due primarily to the aforementioned faster tempo and poppier songs. I would bet fans of RVIVR may also enjoy. The record itself looks & sounds great, with a super slick glossy cover. Definitely worth a look, but they only made 200 of the, so look fast.
